What’s In It?

As you enter you’re greeted with warm smile on the faces of people serving food here. The inmates stay in the semi-open prison, where they are allowed to move out of the jail premises during daytime and come back by evening.

The convicts working here receive training for cooking, serving and baking under the ‘from talent to employment’ programme. The inmates of the semi-open prison serve food and those inside the prison manage all the cooking.

The food court surely has a very cosy setting for a quiet meal with colourful jute and wooden furniture and walls adorned by paintings made by the inmates.

What To Eat?

Tihar Food Court serves delicious fast food. Everything ranging from sandwiches, samosas and snacks to thalis.

What Else?

When here, you can also visit Tihar Haat, where you’ll find amazing handicraft goods, furniture and also, paintings made by the prisoners.

The idea of setting up this food court was proposed by the Director General of Prisons, Vimla Mehra. Also if they receive a good response from the outlet in the jail premises, they will expand it further.
