What Is It?
Jaisalmer Fort, locally known as the ‘Sonari Quilla‘ is one of the very few ‘living forts’ in the world that is home to around one-fourth of the population of the city.
It is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan which was built in 1156 AD by the Rajput ruler, Jaisal and has been declared a World heritage site by UNESCO.

What’s In It?
Inside Jaisalmer Fort, there are 7 Jain temples built by yellow sandstone during 12th-16th century. The fort is a tawny yellow colour during the day and fades into honey-gold during sunset. It beautifully camouflages with the gold of the Thar desert sand.
You can get your shopping spree on in its narrow winding lanes lined up with an array of beautiful and vibrant shops selling all kinds of stuff like leather products, hand-woven purses, silver jewelry and clothes at affordable prices.
