10 Hotels In Lucknow, Rajkot Receive Bomb Threats; Hefty Ransom Demanded From Lucknow Hotels

According to reports, many hotels in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow and Gujarat’s Rajkot received bomb threats this weekend. What happened following the alarming news broke out? Hotels In Rajkot And Lucknow Received Bomb Threats

Around 10 well-known hotels in Lucknow got bomb threat emails on October 27. Most of these threats were directed towards luxury establishments in the city. According to a report by India Today, an email indicating a warning message stated that bombs had been hidden inside black bags on the hotel grounds.

The individual involved in sending the mail asked for a huge demand of $55,000 (approx. ₹46,25,623). The person further alerted about detonating the explosives leading to blood spreading everywhere if the concerned hotel management did not agree to the ask. It further mentioned that any attempt to defuse the bombs would detonate them.

After receiving such news, the hotel management contacted the police. Soon, extra security measures were taken and an investigation was conducted to find out the truth behind the alert. Lucknow hotels that received these bomb threats included Clark Avadh Hotel, Comfort Vista, Dayal Gateway Hotels, Fortune Hotel, Hotel Marriott, Hotel Silvete, Lemon Tree Hotel, Saraca Hotel, and The Piccadily.

Alerts Directed To Hotels In Rajkot

On Saturday, about 10 hotels in Rajkot received emails of bomb threats. It was about 12:45 PM when they received the emails. Police officials and bomb disposal squad headed to the locations to inspect and take necessary steps. Following investigation procedures, those threats were confirmed as hoax alerts.

News of bomb threats indicated to many hotels in Rajkot and Lucknow were reported just a couple of days after similar warnings in Tirupati. Three hotels in this district in Andhra Pradesh got bomb threats through emails.
