And Rouda Al Serkal has created history as revealed in a report by Gulf News, she has become the first woman grandmaster in chess at just 15 years old. Rouda Al Serkal Becomes The First Woman Grandmaster
Rouda Al Serkal has become the first woman grandmaster. Just 15 years old, she received the prestigious title from the International Chess Federation after she won the Arab Women’s Championship. This was held at the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, and she truly felt ecstatic wearing the title.
In case you want, she is now looking forward to competing in the Asian Individual Chess Championship. This will be happening at the Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club from May 6 to 15. The World Youth and Women’s Championships will be happening in July 2024, for which she is also planning to compete. With the aim of improving and eventually earning her title, she wishes to keep challenging herself in every tournament.

She Has Been Playing Since She Was A Kid

As revealed in the same report, this young grandmaster started her career at an early age. When she was just five years old, she won the Asian Championship in the Under-6 category. After that, in the next few years, she saw a mercurial drive, winning more titles!
In fact, she has also been crowned the World Champion in the Solving Puzzles Category C and the West Asian Champion. Enjoying the challenge and the process of figuring things out over the board, the young chess player likes how every game is different. Aiming to improve, she showed her gratitude to the UAE Federation for organising tournaments and supporting ambitious players.
