19 Railway Stations In Mumbai To Get A Makeover

As a part of the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC), 19 railway stations in Mumbai will be given a makeover. 

What Is It?

For decongestion of railway lines, seamless passenger movements and easier commute, 19 stations of Mumbai will be undergoing a makeover very soon. Along with that, there are 7 stations on the Central Line, 8 on Western Line and 4 on Harbour Line. 

Every station will be credited with different requirements including overhead foot bridges, skywalks, ticketing counters, shifting stalls and more.

What Are The Stations? 

The basic aim of this project is to make it easier for the passengers. The stations identified experience a heavy load of public to and fro each day. Here’s the list –
1. Central Line – Kasara, Neral, Shahad, Dombivali, Thane, Mulund and Bhandup.
2. Harbour Line – Mankhurd, Govandi, GTB Nagar, Chembur
3. Western Line – Mumbai Central, Jogeshwari, Kandivali, Vasai, Nalasopara, Mira Road, Virar, and Bhayander.

By When Do We Expect Results? 

The rebuilding of various stations will be starting pretty soon and the Mumbai Municipal Corporation is claiming that the station improvement project is estimated to be completed by 2022.
