Around 9 o’clock in the evening, college student Sigmund, who was traveling with companions, fell overboard from the 230,000-ton ship. This seven-day cruise that had departed from Port Canaveral, Florida, was just two days old.

After the ship turned around to retrace its steps, crew members on board spent around three hours searching the ocean with spotlights, watches, and small craft. Royal Caribbean claimed to have been collaborating with the US Coast Guard, but the military acknowledged that search and rescue operations are Cuba’s responsibility.

According to Ms. Ropich, Cuban officials have ceased searching in the ocean and are now concentrating their efforts on the coastline and on land. She feels relieved that the quest has not yet come to an end.

According to a woman who claimed to be a passenger on board the Wonder of the Seas, the captain revealed video proof that showed the man falling overboard. The sister of Mr. Ropich spoke out against it, claiming the woman was spreading false information.

The 230,000-ton cruise ship Wonder of the Seas’ passengers reported that Hurricane Idalia had already forced a detour from their scheduled itinerary.

The Wonder of the Seas is a 1,188-foot-long ship with enough room for 2,300 crew members and 7,000 passengers. This cruise ship is the biggest in the world, standing 18 decks tall.  (As per Independent)
