Coming to the bridges, the first one has opened at Za’abeel. Yes, it connects traffic from Zaa’beel Palace Street and Oud Merga Street to the Al Khail Road. Morro, this is a 700 m long bridge featuring three lanes and has a capacity for 4800 vehicles per hour. The second bridge has opened at Al Quoz 1, and it links traffic from Al Meydan Street to Al Khail Road. This means the two-lane bridge will extend 650 m and have a capacity of 3200 vehicles per hour.
It should be noted that the goal is to accommodate the needs that are arising from urban development and population growth. And as revealed by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, this strategic project aims at the development of parallel and supporting road corridors to the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed Road, and Emirates Road. In fact, it also has five lanes in each direction, which expands to more than six lanes in some portions.
Finally, three more bridges will open at three locations by the end of this October. These will help in serving the traffic towards Deira. So, it’s bound to make travelling easier for people in Dubai.
