Yes, therefore, the emirate is seeing the installation of smart gates according to an announcement made on Sunday, June 18. These gates will be powered by artificial intelligence and we are here to tell you all about this development.
20 Smart Gates Powered By AI Being Installed
As mentioned above, the main roads in Ras Al Khaimah are witnessing the installation of smart gates. According to a report by Khaleej Times, these gates were AI-powered, and are therefore linked to the police operation rooms. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, these gates will be installed in key areas. It’s worth mentioning that there are 20 such gates! Talking about the gates, they will have smart cameras, which will monitor traffic and also detect crashes.
Moreover, there will also be an overhead screen that will alert on-coming motorists about the weather conditions or inform them about any accidents that they may encounter up ahead on the route. Not to mention, this gate will also help the police to respond to accidents and emergencies, much quicker.

It’s Part Of The Phase 2 Of The Safe City Project In Ras Al Khaimah
It’s worth mentioning that this is part of Phase 2 of the Safe City Project in Ras Al Khaimah. Talking about this phase, it includes the integration of gates with a network of 10,000 smart cameras, which will help in monitoring the emirate. Talking about Phase 1, it witnessed the deployment and enhancement of smart security and traffic control system. This was done in several key areas of the emirate, and the overall aim of the project here is to ensure that there is an active AI-powered security system in place.
With this development, one can be sure that there will certainly be better road safety for motorists and will also help them avoid any traffic incidents.
