251 Passengers Stranded At DXB For Almost 12 Hours After Dubai-Dhaka Flight Needed Part Replacement

When we board an aircraft to travel to a destination, we hardly think of a scenario where the flight will be grounded due to a technical snag and that too for hours at the end. However, this is exactly what happened with passengers of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, which was flying to Dhaka. Here’s what happened at the airport.

Biman Bangladesh Flight Grounded At Dubai Airport

Recently, passengers of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, which was scheduled to take off from Dubai at 12:05 AM on Sunday, October 8 were left stranded at the Dubai Airport for over 10 hours. According to reports by the Khaleej Times, it experienced some technical issues. As a result, the aircraft had to be grounded! It’s worth mentioning that this problem was detected only after all passengers had boarded the flight and it was ready to take off. So, according to airlines, flight BG348, which was scheduled to leave from the Dubai International Airport for Dhaka had 251 passengers and 10 crew members.

Here’s What Happened At The Airport

Although, no specific details about the technical glitch have been provided, it is worth mentioning that the engineers were able to resolve the problem and they declared at 2 AM that a part had to be replaced in order to rectify the issue. As a result, the passengers had to be moved to the airport lounge where they were provided with breakfast and were also offered refreshments at around 11 AM. Moreover, 101 passengers were also provided accommodation with food in hotels near the airport when the issue was not resolved even at 12 PM.

As a result, some passengers decided to take an Emirates flight to Dhaka while others decided to cancel their travel plans altogether. And there were others who remained at the airport, who held visit, cancelled, or transit visas.
