A holiday with our friends is what we dream of all our lives. From a very young age, we start planning when we will take a trip with our childhood buddies and create memories to cherish forever. Many tourists from Bengaluru visit Mangaluru to enjoy serene getaways and escape to nature’s lap. Recently, a group of friends also travelled to this city but unfortunately lost their lives during the trip. We are shocked to hear the news of three men drowning while holidaying in Mangaluru.

Three Among Four Men Drown In The Arabian Sea On Their Trip To Mangaluru

According to several reports, they were former students of Bengaluru’s AMC Engineering College. On Wednesday, the tragic drowning incident occurred when they were swimming at Hosabettu Beach. While sharing information about the accident, police stated that these men drowned in Surathkal police limits. They have sent the bodies for postmortem.

According to a report by The Hindu, the deceased individuals have been identified as Manjunath, Sathyavelu Venkatesan, and Shivakumar Matapathi. Manjunath was from Chitradurga district’s Upparigenahalli. Sathyavelu was from the Krishnagiri district. Shivakumar was from the Vijayapura district.

Parameshwar was the fourth man to join his friends on this trip to Mangalore. He is from the Bidar district. The group began their road trip on Tuesday night and reached their destination the next morning. After reaching Surathkal and enjoying breakfast, they headed for a swim at Hosabettu Beach. In an unfortunate turn of events, three among them drowned in water.

Fishermen Rescued A Man

Mahesh Prasad, the Surathkal police station inspector, shared that local fishermen advised the group of friends to avoid swimming in the deep regions. However, they did not pay much attention to the warnings, according to a report by Hindustan Times. At about 2 PM, they drowned in the Arabian Sea hit by strong currents. Fishermen present jumped into the water to save them. Unfortunately, they could save Parameshwar only.

Police found the three bodies near the Kulai jetty. After the postmortem at AJ Hospital in Mangaluru, their remains were sent to the family members. Police filed a case about this incident. A probe is undergoing as well.
