The 11th edition of the annual Camel Trek is back in the UAE and it’s currently underway. And for this edition, 33 trekkers from 17 countries have set on an incredible journey of 680 km across the desert in the Emirates. Yes, and we are here to tell you all about their fantastic journey that will allow them to experience the Bedouin culture.
11th Edition Of The Camel Trek Begins
For the 11th edition of the annual Camel Trek, trekkers have begun from Arada, which is in Empty Quarter of Abu Dhabi. The camel trekkers will then reach their final destination, which is the Global Village on December 21 as reported by Khaleej Times. Spending a whopping 13 days in the desert, they will travel through the dunes on the back of their trusted camels.
So, as they encounter new challenges and face thrilling adventures, they are certainly going to experience the old ways of Bedouin. For those who are not aware, this camel caravan is led by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre CEO, Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook.

It Will Conclude At The Global Village
The camel caravan promotes the cultural heritage and the spirit of tolerance, camaradrie, and endurance of the UAE.
For those who are not aware, this is an annual trek that has been taking place for the past 10 years. And every year willing trekkers from different nationalities take on this extraordinary journey into the past. It’s truly a window into the long-standing heritage of the UAE wherein they truly get to experience the exotic culture and life as it once used to exist. However, there is one category for this trek and that is to be fit. And this is truly a culturally important trek, as camels have played an important role in the UAE for a great part of the history.
