Gogunda, once the temporary capital of Mevar has a rich history and a 450- year-old palace that has now been turned into a luxury hotel.

What’s it?
The Gogunda Palace saw the coronation of Maharana Udai Singh’s son Kunwar Pratap Singh, and lay abandoned since ages until seven years ago when it was bought by a Mumbai-based family.
It was then restored to its former glory with each of the 40 rooms, separately designed and furnished.
What’s in it?
The suite to look out for is the Raaj Tilak Suite. The suite is built around the room that witnessed the coronation of Maharana Pratap.
The room is small with space enough for a queen bed. Its terracotta pink walls are given over to elaborate murals of women in traditional Rajasthani attire, surrounded by palm trees and floral motifs. The suite has a larger bedroom with a hand-carved four-poster king bed, and a spacious living room, both decked out with hand-painted murals and rich upholstery.
What else?
The property boasts of the Heritage quarter Restaurant that serves the best of authentic Rajasthani cuisine. You can enjoy the ghee drenched dal bati churma at the Heritage Quarter Restaurant or sip on to custom made cocktails at their Bougainvillaea Bar.
The hotel also offers guided heritage walks of the village, visit to the nearby farms, cycling on the twining roads, or a short trip to Haldighati, Ranakpur, and Kumbhalgarh.
