This isn’t the first stray dog menace incident in the country. In recent years, due to the unmonitored increase in the stray dog population, several people have been attacked by them. Here are some instances where people were severely injured by the animals:

1. Stray Dogs In Baramulla

A young girl in Baramulla town’s Qazihamam Mohalla narrowly averted a terrifying confrontation with stray dogs. This worrying incident brought to light the rising problem of stray dogs in the area and the requirement for prompt action. The girl’s rescue was ultimately provided by the residents’ actions.

Locals heard her frantic cries and came running to her aid, averting what might have been a tragic outcome. Residents of Baramulla have been living in fear, especially in the evenings as stray dogs are becoming more common in the city’s streets and alleys. Children are among those who are most at risk from these assaults.

2. Lawyer Hounded & Attacked

The recent incident from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, in which a boy died after contracting rabies from a dog bite, was brought up in the Supreme Court on Monday during an informal discussion about the problem of stray dogs while a bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud was hearing a case. This occurred when a badly bandaged lawyer admitted when questioned by the CJI, that he had been “hounded and attacked” by five stray dogs.

3. 8-YO Mauled By The Stray Dogs

In Agra, a stray dog killed an eight-year-old girl after attacking her. Although the incident occurred 15 days earlier, neither the family nor the girl received any anti-rabies vaccine (ARV). On Saturday, her condition rapidly worsened; as a result, she was brought to the hospital where she subsequently passed away.
