A recently released survey revealed Indians’s preferred tourist destinations, approach to sustainable tourism, thoughts on budget, and more.
Which Tourist Destinations Do Indians Love Travelling To?
From preferring holiday locations to kinds of travel experiences, this survey highlights interesting information about Indian travellers’ travel choices. 24 per cent of respondents love travelling to picturesque locations to ‘visit tourist destinations’. For 17 per cent, ‘rest and recharge’ is a necessity. 12 per cent of travellers like to ‘be immersed in nature’.
A majority of travellers in India are nature enthusiasts. 65 per cent of explorers love taking trips to scenic natural attractions such as mountain ranges and natural parks. Next, 46 per cent of tourists prefer vacations on beaches and coastal areas.
41 per cent of respondents shared their fascination for historical sites such as castles and museums. Spiritual tourism mesmerises devotees with wonderful experiences. 38 per cent shared that they plan holidays to visit religious places and for devotional reasons.
51 per cent of Indian travellers prefer travelling to breathtaking tourist destinations in India. 52 per cent of people love domestic travelling as it offers more opportunities to explore our country. 47 per cent believe exploring India is more budget-friendly. Convenience such as shorter holiday durations influences 43 per cent of travellers to visit picturesque places nationwide.
Indians Are Choosing Sustainable Tourism
If sustainable options are available, 53 per cent of Indian travellers will choose these while exploring tourist destinations. On the other hand, 32 per cent responded saying they prefer looking for sustainable choices first.
On vacations, 60 per cent of Indians like to use credit/debit cards for payment. 50 per cent of travellers prefer payment apps. 46 per cent still use paying with cash.
For most Indians, price is the most important factor to consider while finding stay options on a trip. 41 per cent stated that budget takes precedence over accommodation locations and brands.
