The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express has had a positive impact on Indian rail travel. It has not only elevated the passenger experience but also improved the overall efficiency and reliability of the railway network. And now, Indian Railways will introduce the first Vande Bharat sleeper train by March 2024 for the convenience of passengers.

Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is developing the Vande Bharat sleeper train. Moreover, there’s a metro train coming along by the end of 2023 that will be rolled out in January or February of 2024.
Within this fiscal year, both the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train and the metro will be introduced. The non-AC train will feature 22 carriages and a locomotive at either end. And that rollout is said to take place prior to October 31. Aiming to be cost-effective, Vande Bharat’s sleeper version will include 16 coaches, including 11 AC three-tier, 4 AC two-tier, and 1 first AC.
The Indian Railways would benefit greatly from the introduction of Vande Bharat sleeper trains, which will enable passengers to travel long distances overnight. Due to the lack of overnight viability of the current Vande Bharat trains’ seater coaches, the new sleepers are expected to address this issue.
Currently, the train boasts spacious, reclining seats, large windows for panoramic views, and advanced infotainment systems for entertainment.
Additionally, by the end of the current year, Vande Metro aims to be ready. The metro aims to be ready sometime in January or February 2024. The Vande Bharat metro will only be used for local transportation.
