If you’re a fan of Is It Cake? then you’d know how mind-boggling it can be to differentiate actual objects from their cake replicas. Taking things further is Food Network Show winner and food content creator, Karen Thi. In an absolutely mind-blowing move, Thi created a cookie-themed short film that featured a life-sized cookie of actor Pedro Pascal apart from many other realistic edible creations.
Baker Directs Cookie-Themed Short Film
Taking to her Instagram handle (karenthibakes), Karen Thi directed and created a delicious short film named Is It…Cookie? starring herself and her fiancé. The creative whizz called her film about cookies, the first ever of its kind, a bold statement. In the caption, she mentioned sitting on the idea for two years until she felt the time was right to execute. After all, it’s a mammoth project and it needed her to be mentally prepared for the painstaking work that was needed to bake and design the cookies.
Karen Thi’s Is It…Cookie? pokes fun at her life, almost giving way to a nightmarish day in her life where anything she touches turns into a cookie. Just like the Midas Touch. Her mobile, toothbrush, makeup brush and even her fiancé turn into a life-sized Pedro Pascal cookie when she brushes against him. Both filmmakers and bakers hailed her short film and called it a cookie inception.

It Stars A Life-Sized Cookie Replica Of Pedro Pascal
For fans curious to get a sneak peek at what went behind the scenes, Karen Thi shared a reel for that as well. It was a glimpse into her “creatively unhinged mind”. From using a projector to design and pipe Pedro Pascal’s face on the cookie to baking pieces of cookies together to assemble it into a life-sized replica of the actor, the baker left no stone unturned to make her short film a hit. Karen Thi is a smart cookie! No doubt about that!

She used two types of resin to glue the cookies together and even used cardboard to make sure it was sturdy. Pastry Pascal was made to lean on a tripod and was supported by boxes. Let’s just say he was a snack! And we can’t wait to see what Karen Thi’s next edible short films would look like!
