Signing an AED6 billion agreement, there are plans for road enhancements. This includes the construction of new bridges, access points, and even roads, which aim to improve the traffic situation in the area. As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, this can improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and even increase the capacity of the entry and exit points for several localities. This key development will be carried across important communities like the Dubai Islands, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Park, Arjan, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Palm Gateway, Nad Al Hamar, Villanova, Majan, Liwan (Phase 1), and Serena.
As it happens, bridges and roads will be developed in the area that will improve access points for five key developments of Dubai Holding. Yes, these are Jumeirah Village Circle, Business Bay, Dubai Production City, Palm Jumeirah, and International City (Phase 3). Moreover, four additional access points will also be developed for Jumeirah Village Circle. Take a look at the scope of work:
- At this point, it’s worth mentioning that new bridges will be constructed that will improve access to Dubai Production City. This will make life easier for people travelling from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and will also reduce the travel time at entry and exit. Moreover, traffic flow on internal roads will also be improved by 50%
- For Intersections leading to Business Bay from Sheikh Zayed Road, improvements will be made along with the construction of pedestrian bridges at the Business Bay intersection. This is with the First Al Khail Road, which is aiming to enhance safety.
- Similarly, in JVC, there will be the construction of additional acceleration and deceleration lanes. This will be along Palm Jumeirah and it will be spanning six locations for optimised traffic flow. In fact, two pedestrian bridges will also be built that will replace grade crossings, enhance mobility, and even ensure pedestrian safety.
- It also includes the expansion of the road, and this marks the entrance into International City (Phase 3) from Manama Street. For this, a new lane, wideniing of internal roads, and upgrade of surface intersections with traffic signals will be done.
It’s worth mentioning that the development aims to ensure there is greater connectivity, safety, and a seamless traffic flow. So, what do you think about this road-related development in Dubai?
