A Pakistani Traveller Was Accidentally Flown To Saudi Arabia Without A Passport

Imagine flying to a particular destination with your whole schedule planned out, only to find out that you have landed in the wrong city. Sounds quite hassling, doesn’t it? Well, something similar happened to a Pakistani man when he boarded a flight thinking he was flying to Karachi, but instead ended up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Here’s what happened to the passenger travelling with the private airline Air Sial.

Air Sial Accidentally Flies Pakistani Man To Jeddah

This incident occurred on July 8 when the passenger was flying with private airline, Air Sial, from Lahore. He had plans to travel to Karachi and had boarded the flight, thinking he was headed to the city. But instead, he was flown to Jeddah by accident. According to the passenger, as revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, he did not even have a passport or visa for international travel. As a result, it caused further distress at the destination where he was detained and deported.

He Was Headed To Lahore

As revealed in the same report, it was mentioned how the passenger had shown his tickets to the air hostess and was still allowed to board the flight. And he was not informed of the error. It was only later that he realised that he was on the wrong plane, but it was already too late. The passenger has now filed a complaint against the airline. Especially since the airline has refused to cover the expenses of the return flight to Lahore. The passenger even went on to claim that the airline said it would take two to three days to bring him to Karachi when the crew was questioned.

The Passenger Has Filed A Complaint

Going by the passenger’s statement, the crew had panicked when he questioned them, and he was blamed for the error. Currently, the matter is being investigated by the Pakistan Airport Authority, and the airline is also being held responsible by the Lahore Airport Management.

Such strange incidents truly aren’t common, but they aren’t impossible either. However, it’s important to be extra careful while boarding flights and to check if all the details mentioned in the ticket and at the airports are followed thoroughly. After all, landing in the wrong destination is not only a hassle but also a waste of time.
