Mumbai is known for its legendary cuisine, and two of its most beloved restaurants are Shree Thaker Bhojanalay and Swati Snacks. However, Aaditya Thackeray, one of India’s youngest politicians from Mumbai, shockingly admitted to Chef Suvir Saran during an interview on Screen that he had never been to either of these famous locations. Even though he adores Mumbai’s street cuisine, these well-known eateries have managed to stay off his list.
Aaditya Thackeray Tells Chef Saran What He Likes To Eat
These two restaurants are icons in the city’s culinary history since they have been providing genuine, flavourful Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine for decades. He mentions that he’s eaten the food from these restaurants at friends’ homes but hasn’t had the opportunity to visit either. Further in the video, the politician admitted to Saran that he enjoys the Bhaji Pao and Vada Pao at Vasaikar.
Even though he prefers Maharashtrian flavours, foodies from all over the world are still drawn to Swati Snacks and Shree Thaker Bhojanalay because of their historical significance.
The Legacy Of Swati Snacks & Shree Thaker Bhojnalay
In the 1960s, Swati Snacks opened as a small restaurant in Tardeo that served vegetarian food prepared from scratch. It has developed over the years into one of Mumbai’s most popular informal dining establishments, renowned for its creative yet genuine take on Rajasthani and Gujarati food.
The capacity of Swati Snacks to update traditional recipes while maintaining their essence is one of its distinguishing features. Swati Snacks has kept its homely charm and dedication to quality despite its expansion and success. Due to its success, it has also opened a location outside of Mumbai in Ahmedabad. Bollywood stars, business magnates, and foodies are still drawn to the restaurant because they want to try its cosy dishes.
