Balasaheb Thackeray’s beloved grandson, Aaditya Thackeray, is one of the youngest politicians in Maharashtra. He joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for this episode of Sunday Brunch. He is a true Mumbaikar who shared with us his experience of studying at Bombay Scottish School. Did he walk around with a bunch of bodyguards at school and college? Read on to learn about his academy days.

Aaditya Thackeray Couldn’t Stop Praising Bombay Scottish School

Kamiya was curious about Aaditya’s school days and wanted to know how he behaved as the grandson of the renowned Balasaheb. Our charming guest told us that he was at the most prestigious school in Mumbai, Bombay Scottish School. When we filmed this delightful episode, the school was in its 176th year. In 2024, the school completed 177 years.

He shared with us that he was just like any other ordinary kid attending Bombay Scottish School. Additionally, the atmosphere and culture of the school allowed him to stay grounded and encouraged him to try his hand at new stuff. The most important was public speaking! His principal encouraged him and practically sent him onto the stage to overpower his glossophobia.

Next, he added that sports, studies, and extracurricular activities were truly remarkable here. The teachers, too, wanted the best for every kid in the school and pushed them harder to achieve victory. Bombay Scottish School did their part exceptionally well; the product is none other than the Yuva Sena leader and MLA of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Aaditya Thackeray!

We wanted to learn about his college days. Kamiya asked whether all of his education was done in Mumbai. He was quick to answer that he studied in Mumbai although there were talks about moving abroad for a couple of years to attain college degrees. In the end, he went against that idea because he wanted to establish his knowledge better on Indian history and politics.
