Aaditya Thackeray

Stage fright is real and anyone can have it. Politicians have to be great orators owing to the nature of their job. Hence, politicians and stage fright aren’t the most ideal combination. It would be like a swimmer being afraid of water. For this episode of Sunday Brunch, Aaditya Thackeray, leader of Yuva Sena, talked about how he was pushed (literally) to overcome his fear of public speaking.

This Is How Aaditya Thackeray Overcame His Fear Of Public Speaking

Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, was inquisitive about Aaditya’s school days while they gorged on yummy food. He told us that he studied at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, which is one of the best schools in Mumbai. It is over 170 years old and our guest was all-praises for his school!

Aaditya said, “The culture of the school is very nice and helps you to chase excellence.” He highlighted how the teachers of his school were incredibly helpful and admirable. He recalled one incident where his principal had to push him onto the stage to get over the fear of public speaking. He clarified that he suffered from Glossophobia and feared stepping on the stage.

However, over the years he has overcome the fear of being on the stage. He told us that he still can’t give outstanding speeches and rather enjoys having conversations with people. He shared with us that now, he doesn’t regularly think about delivering speeches in general and has come to make peace with it.

Continuing on the topic of his school days, Aaditya told us that he was a quiet and shy kid who wouldn’t initiate any kind of trouble in the class. He preferred sitting either on the first bench or at the back of the class near a corner. He mentioned that he would have three to four of his friends around him which is always the best seating arrangement. Ah, those great school days!
