Sometimes, just after a flight takes off, it often has to turn around and make an emergency landing at the starting point of the flight, or maybe even midway at the nearest airport. While this can be a scary and frustrating situation for the passengers, the problem has to be dealt with immediately, so that any crisis can be averted. And something similar happened to the passengers of an IndiGo flight that was headed to Abu Dhabi. The aircraft had to make an emergency landing at Delhi Airport on the night of September 16 and here’s the reason why.
IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing At Delhi Airport On Saturday
Recently, an IndiGo flight, which was headed to Abu Dhabi made an emergency landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday night. The aircraft carrying 155 passengers on board had landed at the airport at 10:42 PM according to a report by India Today. Additionally, the report stated that the suspected reason for the emergency landing has been attributed to hydraulic system failure. It is worth mentioning that this flight was headed from Lucknow. Not to mention, the flight number was 6E 093 and it did land safely and all the passengers aboard were safe.

Other Cases Of Emergency Landings
However, this is not the first time a flight has made an emergency landing, as previously another IndiGo flight performed the procedure at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. This happened after the flight suffered a bird strike just a few minutes after take-off when it was headed to Delhi. And more recently, an Ethiopian Airlines flight, which was headed to Addis Ababa from Delhi headed back to the airport after there were reports of smoke in the cockpit. This happened in the early hours of September 14 at around 3 AM. This flight was operated on the aircraft Boeing 777-eight and the flight number was ET 687.
As frustrating, as the situations can be for passengers, it is certainly safer to be frustrated than to be in a sorry situation.
