1. Abu Dhabi Extends Maternity Leave

Abu Dhabi has extended maternity leave to 90 days for Emirati women. This is valid for those working in the private sector. As it happens, this is among the six initiatives that have been taken by the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, which was launched to support Emirati families in Abu Dhabi. Previously, private firms generally granted a leave of 60 days, which included 45 days of fully paid and 15 days of half-paid maternity leave according to the UAE labour law.

2. New Dubai Residents Buy Properties Within 2 Years Of Arrival

In a recent report, it was mentioned New Dubai residents are buying properties within 2 years of moving to Dubai. A major reason for this is that they plan to stay for longer period. So, for this purpose, they are helping in absorb the new supply that is coming to the market. This holds true as a significant percentage of the newly completed projects are now getting absorbed by the rental market.

3. ADNOC Lights Up For France National Day

Commemorating France’s National Day, the ADNOC building in Abu Dhabi lit up in the colours of the French flag. The building was seen lighting up in the colours of blue, white, and red as France celebrated its national day, which is also called Bastille day.

4. 10th World Green Eco Summit To Happen Soon

The 10th World Green Eco Summit is all set to kick off in October. Yes, it will happen from October 2-3 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This will be organised by Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DEWA, and World Green Economy Organization. Moreover, there will be participation of prominent experts, specialists, thought leaders, and researchers. Yes, they will be from major global universities and research centres.

5. UAE Citizens Can Design Dubai Park

UAE citizens and residents now have a chance to shape an upcoming park in Dubai. During a recent workshop, several inputs were given by the people about things that could be included in the park at Nad Al Hamar 3. These suggestions included an interactive play area, a method of converting humidity into water for plant, and even a shaded cycle track., This workshop has been launched as a part of Dubai’s urban design platform.
