Abu Dhabi is all set to welcome a new real estate development. A master destination by Aldar, say hello to Fahid Island. This is an AED40 billion master development that aims to breathe new life into coastal living. However, what sets it apart is the fact that it aims to focus on wellness, sustainability, and community, making it the first wellness island in Abu Dhabi. Here’s all you need to know about this master development in the emirate.

Fahid Island Announced By Aldar

Spread across a whopping 2.7 million m², Fahid Island was unveiled on Monday, June 2. It would feature more than 6,000 high-end homes, as revealed by the Khaleej Times. Not only this, there would also be a 10 km fitness corridor, a dedicated waterfront promenade and 4.6 km of beaches, making it absolutely worthwhile for residents.

More About The First Coastal Wellness Island

With the development being regarded as the first coastal wellness Island, it has already received Fitwel Certification. As a result, this has become the first island in the world to meet the global healthy building standard! In case you’re wondering about the destination, it would be located between Yas Island and Saadiyat Island. Fahid Island is being designed in such a way that it would offer seamless access to Zayed International Airport and other leisure, cultural, and aviation hubs in Abu Dhabi, with all of them being reachable in just under 15 minutes.

2-Km Promenade, Mid-Rise Buildings & More

Moreover, this development includes residential offerings that are being designed by renowned architects like Kengo Kuma and Koichi Takada from Japan. Not only this, London-based ACME and UAE-based NAGA Architects are also doing their bit. It is expected that the first homes that would be released would include seven mid-rise buildings. These buildings would have 65 apartments and also include townhouses and ultra-luxury villas. With world-class communities, this builds on the success of Saadiyat and Yas Island.

There will also be a 2-km promenade, which would be the social heart of the development. So, it’s not surprising that it will be home to retail, dining, art installations, and public spaces. Moreover, they would also be a Coral Drive retail boulevard that would be home to boutique stores, a ballet school, cafes and even concept outlets. With the island being the largest mixed-use residential master plan to be launched in Abu Dhabi, it’s truly going to be a one-stop destination for people.
