They have asked motorists to remain alert for pedestrians and to reduce speed when they approach the designated crossing. Moreover, those who fail to follow the traffic rules across the roads from undesignated areas will be liable to face a fine of AED400.
2. Back-to-school Safety Plan Announced By Sharjah Police
Sharjah Police has announced back-to-school safety plan as the 2026-2027 academic year starts. Patrols are being stepped up around the schools, and inspections have been intensified on the school buses. This plan aims to protect the students as they return to classrooms. It also brings together several departments and strategic partners in order to ensure there is increased patrol and enhance emergency response to schools. Traffic patrols will also be more heavily deployed at locations, roads, and intersections that’s around the school.
3. Al Ain Plants 14 km Of Ghaf Trees
Al Ain City Municipality has finished the 14 km wind break project. This is the Tanhoun bin Mohammed Road, and for this project, 1,807 ghaf trees have been planted. The aim is to reduce drifting sand and to improve protection for motorists and nearby communities.

The Emirates News Agency in Abu Dhabi has recorded the first ever nesting of an olive ridley turtle, as revealed by Emirates News. This is a rare occurrence, and it took place at Sadiya Island. The turtle laid 109 eggs; 40 hatchlings made their way into the sea successfully.
