The UAE hosts a lot of sports like cricket, football and more. In the past years, the UAE has upgraded its infrastructure to make it convenient and accessible for big tournaments to take place in the country. And the journey to construct more stadiums continues. In a recent update, Abu Dhabi announced it would be building a 24,000-seater fully air-conditioned stadium in Zayed City.
A 24,000-Seat New Stadium Is Opening In Abu Dhabi By 2029

According to a report by The Times of India and Al Jazira Club, the Al Jazira Club Stadium is set to be built in Zayed City. With a seating capacity of 24,000 and expandable to 30,000, this stadium was recently reviewed by UAE President His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He went through the details of the design and master plan. This new Abu Dhabi stadium is being built to provide world-class features in a sports venue.
What Are The Features?
From expandable seating, air-conditioned setup and retractable pitch, this stadium will also consist of premium hospitality zones. And not to forget, Al Jazira Stadium will house restaurants and lounges for fans and visitors. Overall, the stadium is designed as a multipurpose sports venue, and it’s scheduled to open by 2029. As per TOI, the location of this stadium is in the South of Abu Dhabi, which is being developed as an urban hub of the future.
Commercial Setup Along With Stadium
Al Jazira Club joined hands with a real estate company, MAIR Group, in September 2025 to develop a commercial setup. As part of this deal, the company has been provided 80,000 sqm area right next to the stadium site. The plan is to create commercial spaces, including healthcare, entertainment venues and more in the given space in future.

Al Jazira Club To Get A New Home Ground
Upon Completion, this stadium will serve to be the new home ground for Al Jazira club of the UAE. Also, Al Jazira club plays football, volleyball, handball and basketball. The features mentioned above seem to support all sports in future. The new stadium is set to set new standards across the sporting world.
