BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi certainly created history, when it was inaugurated by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ceremony took place with great pomp and show, and now as the temple has finally opened to the public, it saw a staggering 65,000 visitors on the first public Sunday. Here’s all about it!

According to a notification released by the BAPS, people visited the temple in large numbers with their loved ones. Yes, on its first Sunday since the public opening, the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi welcomed a staggering 65,000 pilgrims and visitors. The devotees came in buses and cars with 40,000 of them visiting in the morning itself!

People Came In Large Droves To The Spiritual Site

As it happens, the rest of the 25,000 people visited during the evening! While there were many many people who came to visit the beautifully created marvel, deviated patiently and progressed in an orderly manner. Yes, the visitors were grouped in Bachelors of 2000 and were allowed to enter the Mandir campus in an acute and orderly fashion. Thereafter, this stood before the statues seeking blessings, and feeling at peace.

A New Bus Route 203 Launched

As such, the temple management in a report by the Gulf News mentioned that the UAE government’s dedicated towards making visits for people accessible and inclusive. For this, they have introduced a new bus route 203 from Abu Dhabi to Mandir.

Therefore, facilitating weekend visits and emphasising the nation’s commitment towards cultural diversity and influence, this has been a truly positive development. It’s worth mentioning that this bus route begins at the Al Nehyan Bus Station in Abu Dhabi City and ends at the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Mureikha.

Symbolising harmony, this temple certainly serves as a beacon of spirituality, bringing people together from different backgrounds and beliefs. Not to mention, it’s a testament to the UAE’s forward-thinking approach!
