In the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we met and explored Delhi with actress Ridhi Dogra. She took us to some of her favourite hotspots in the lanes of GK M-Block Market and opened up about her acting journey, nostalgic college days and much more. In a fun conversation, the Delhi ki kudi shared unique things about Delhiites that make them stand out from the rest of the country. Here’s what she said.

Ridhi Dogra Shares What Makes Delhiites Stand Out

After savouring the delicious Dolma Aunty’s Momos, Ridhi took us to a street-side shakarkandi chaat stall. She emphasised this was an important pitstop as she wanted to show the people in Mumbai how the chaat is actually made! Delhiites are known for their high level of confidence, and we asked Ridhi, which is the one ‘Delhiite’ quality in her. She replied, ‘’Jab mai Bombay gai thi to office me jaha kaam kar rahi thi, maine waha ‘Haanji’ bola. ‘Haanji’ bolke maine kisiko reply kiya, and then someone turned around and said. ‘Are you from Delhi?’’ During the conversation, Ridhi got momentarily distracted by the shopping stalls in the lanes of the GK M-Block Market but continued sharing her thoughts about Delhiites.

She added, “Delhi walon ki ek alag hi vibe hoti hai, ‘Tu jaanta nahi main kaun hoon’, and that vibe is in every one or wo chiz hume apne aap me ek confidence data hai.” According to her, people from Delhi have a particular tone, a unique way of speaking, and are especially fluent in Hindi.

No One Can Troll Delhiites

Since trolling is something people encounter every day, we asked if being an actor, Ridhi has been exposed to the dark side of social media. A nonchalant Ridhi said that it doesn’t bother her much. She feels that nobody can troll her because she is from Delhi. She sarcastically said, “Mai Delhi se hu aur hume kaun hi troll kar sakta hai. Tum apni trolling thik se karo yaar, hum tumhari trolling ko judge kar rahe hai.”

We then hopped over to another food spot in Delhi, Brown Sugar. Over some delicious red sauce pasta, we discussed whether Ridhi considers herself an old-school person. To this, she replied, “I don’t know old school, but I am very simple in my thoughts and try my best not to complicate my life. And the only way to stay simple is to be closer to authenticity and the purity of thought. Jitna app khud ko simple aur uncomplicated rakhoge, utne aap old-school lagoge.” She even shared how emotional Delhiites are, and how people in Delhi build relationships straight from the heart.
