The iconic Bollywood actor and politician Govinda has injured himself. He shot himself in the leg with his revolver and is now undergoing treatment. If reports are to go by, he was returning the revolver to its case. While doing so, the gun slipped from his hand and went off, injuring him in the leg. According to an article which was recently published by The Indian Express or IE, the incident took place in the wee hours of October 1, 2024, at 4:45 AM. Govinda, who is currently 60 years old, was getting ready to leave for Kolkata when the accident happened.
The actor’s manager, Shashi Sinha, told ANI that the incident took place while he was returning the gun to its case. It slipped from his hand and dropped. Upon falling, the gun went off, thus injuring Govinda’s leg. The actor was rushed to CritiCare Hospital where he is currently recovering.
The manager also told ANI that the doctors have removed the bullet from his leg and that his condition is stable now. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, confirmed the same to IE and said that she was travelling to Mumbai and would directly head to the hospital.

As per a Times Of India or TOI article, Govinda and his manager were supposed to catch a flight at 6 AM to Kolkata for a show. However, this unfortunate incident happened. The Mumbai Police is investigating the incident and has seized his weapon.
