This Sunday Brunch was anything but ordinary—it was a potluck like never before! Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, hosted a lively gathering with R. Madhavan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Kirti Kulhari, where conversations flowed as freely as the food. From comfort meals and quirky food combinations to deep dives into money matters, financial habits, and personal investments, the Hisaab Barabar trio shared candid insights and anecdotes.

The Hisaab Barabar Cast Gets Candid About Spending, Saving, And Financial Responsibility

In a candid conversation with Kamiya Jani, the Hisaab Barabar cast—Maddy, Neil, and Kirti—dove deep into financial habits, personal investments, and the evolving mindset around money management. Maddy shares a thoughtful insight when Kamiya asks the cast who keeps a tab on their hisaab, saying, “I plan to keep a look at how much money I have, but I never spend the money I don’t have. I never borrow and spend the money, but within that limitation, I’m quite a bad spender.”

Neil shared insights into his personal connection to the story, emphasising the importance of investment in his life: “Investment has been a very important aspect from the very start of my career, not for any other reason, but because of my upbringing, which has been, of course, very modest and I’ve seen a lot of struggle through the days.” Neil goes on to reflect on how his middle-class values shape his approach to securing a better future for his daughter, while also delving into his role as Mickey Mehta, a character who plays a negative, scheming figure in the film (Hisaab Barabar).

Kirti opens up about her approach to savings, explaining, “Some days you’re spending more and whatever, but I do try to, depending on how much are my expenses, anyway between 10 to 30 per cent, I would want to put it into savings.” The discussion highlights how even amidst fluctuating spending habits, setting aside a portion for savings and investment remains a priority for her. The conversation also touched upon changing financial trends—from gold to cash to digital money—while drawing parallels to Hisaab Barabar’s core theme of financial deception, where one character’s aspirations are thwarted by a scheming scammer.

The Hisaab Barabar Cast On Food Habits And Hosting Limits

During this lively conversation with Kamiya Jani, the Hisaab Barabar cast—Maddy, Neil, and Kirti—also opened up about their eating habits and hosting experiences. Neil shared how he follows a strict eating schedule due to GERD, a condition he’s been managing for years. “Without a doubt, I eat every two hours. I have acid reflux issues, so I have to,” he explained, adding that this habit has significantly improved his lifestyle. He used to rely on three full meals a day but recently transitioned to eating smaller portions every two to two and a half hours.

On the topic of hosting, Kirti admitted that while she enjoys organising gatherings at home, she has a limit. “Up to 10-12 people, I can manage. But beyond that, it’s like—guys, come on, how much can one make?” she laughed
