We recently stumbled upon a post by India Eat Mania on Instagram and we knew we had to share it with all you fellow food lovers! If you love sushi, then The Japanese in Lucknow is the place for you. Located in Chatori Gali, this food cart serves all vegetarian dishes and the Arabic Sushi here is a must-try!
The chef and food cart owner, Chef Atulya Singh decided to bring the Japanese and Korean flavours to the ‘City of Nawabs’. But he understood that he had to keep up with the preferences and tastes of the local crowd. So, for that, he gave his dishes some Indian touch and that’s how his Arabic Sushi ended up having a paneer filling!
For his bestseller Arabic Sushi, the chef adds sticky rice, sesame oil, roasted sesame seeds, paneer marinated in tandoori spices, cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, and three homemade sauces to a nori sheet. The sushi is then served with some more homemade dips and kimchi to elevate the taste!

Bringing Japanese & Korean Flavours To The Streets Of Lucknow
Chef Atulya Singh’s idea for this food cart is to bring the flavours of the world to the streets of Lucknow. He has worked as a chef in ITC Hotels and Domino’s but after the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to open his own food cart. His cart has a very interesting tagline which says, “Passport nahi sirf bhook chahiye!” which highlights all international cuisines served here. Besides Arabic Sushi, you can also try tacos, ramen, burritos, bibimbap, and enchiladas at The Japanese.
