Indians celebrated Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on the 76th Independence Day in different and special ways to commemorate 75 years of independence. Just like others, Milind Soman too celebrated this big day but his way to do it was different than others. To honour this day and celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the supermodel and fitness enthusiast covered a massive distance of 451 km running.
Milind Soman Flagged Off The Unity Run 2022 From Jhansi Fort
Milind took 8 days to complete his run of 451 km. He started his journey of Unity Run from Rajasthan’s Jhansi Fort on 15 August and covered almost 53 km every day to reach his destination, Red Fort in Delhi. Unity Run 2022 was his gesture to spread the brilliant message of peace and harmony. The journey was tiring and certainly difficult at times with heat, dust, sun, rain, and blisters but Soman completed this beautiful journey successfully.

Milind Met Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi
On 23 August, Soman completed his journey by reaching Red Fort in the national capital. After reaching Delhi, he met PM Narendra Modi. Milind took to his social media to share about his interaction with PM Modi and how they talked about their love and interest in sports, health, and fitness. Sharing the pictures on social media, he captioned, ‘Was so happy to meet Hon PM @narendramodi after the #UnityRun and discover a mutual interest in ancient Indian traditions of sport, health & fitness :) i thanked him for all he is doing to encourage people to take up Yoga and Ayurveda across the country,’. He also wrote in the caption that he gifted a Balakrishna to PM Modi. Milind’s wife, Ankita Konwar brought it from Vrindavan during Janmashtami.

Milind Soman often makes headlines for his enthusiasm for sports, health, and fitness. And the Unity Run 2022 is surely a great achievement, an unbelievable experience, and a scope for a lot of learning too. In one of his Instagram posts, he mentioned that he will soon talk about his learning of this journey. He wrote, ‘I run for fun but I will share the lessons I learnt sooooon’.
