Shortly after the New York-bound Air India flight from Mumbai was rerouted to Delhi because of a bomb threat, two separate IndiGo flights received similar threats on October 14. These flights were travelling from Mumbai to Jeddah and Muscat and were taken to the isolated bay for the necessary security protocols.
After Air India, Two IndiGo Flights Receive Bomb Threats
It doesn’t look like a good day for Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. On Monday, three separate flights departing from Mumbai Airport received bomb threats. After the Air India bomb scare that forced the flight to be diverted to Delhi’s IGI Airport, two IndiGo flights were sent similar bomb threats.
As per The Indian Express report, flight 6E 56 from Mumbai to Jeddah and flight 6E 1275, operating from Mumbai to Muscat, received bomb threats on October 14. This has prompted security officials and airport authorities to take swift actions and precautionary measures to ensure passengers’ safety.
Unlike Air India, the IndiGo flights received bomb threats minutes before takeoff. After this, the aircraft were taken to an isolated bay and security checks were conducted. According to a statement released by IndiGo, following the standard operating procedure, mandatory security checks have been initiated. The passengers of both flights were provided with assistance and refreshments by the airline.

New York-Bound Air India Rerouted To Delhi After Bomb Scare
The bomb threat for two IndiGo flights came hours after the Mumbai-New York Air India flight was diverted to Delhi Airport due to a similar security concern. The flight was carrying 239 passengers. As per reports, the Mumbai airport authorities received a bomb threat via a message on X (formerly Twitter) after the flight took off from Mumbai.
Seeing the seriousness of the threat, the flight was rerouted to Delhi’s IGI Airport, where the passengers were deplaned, and security checks were carried out on the plane. As of now, it is still not clear whether the bomb threat was a hoax or not, and the investigation about the same is underway.
