Recently, Sharjah introduced Care Leave for female employees who gave birth to a sick or disabled child who required constant care. And keeping up with this compassion, they have now introduced Marriage Leave for employees in the government agencies. Here’s all you need to know about this development in the emirate.

Sharjah Introduces Marriage Leave For Govt Employees

Supporting employees who are working in the government agencies, Sharjah has introduced marriage leaves for them. Yes, they will now be eligible for eight days of leave as per the report of Khaleej Times. The move comes under the new decree-law on human resources in the Emirate. This law was issued by Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, who is the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

A Part Of The Decree-Law

The decree-law includes several other provisions. One of these includes priority of government appointment for citizens and children of female citizens. However, non-citizens can be appointed on contracts that are in accordance with the executive regulation. It was, in fact, under this law that a new veterinary system was introduced in Sharjah. After all, it was just this year when Care Leave was approved.

Care Leave For Female Employees

Under this leave, female employees who give birth to a sick or disabled child requiring continuous care will be given leave. It begins after the completion of maternity leave and can be extended annually for up to 3 years.

Talking more about the law, it affects all employees who are working in government agencies. In fact, it also affects those who have their own human resources rules in place. The aim is to keep up with the changes in human resources practices while also improving the work environment for the employees.

In fact, it also includes several amendments and legal provisions that are related to the organisational structure.
