Drones are increasingly becoming a part of our lives. It was not long ago when people were talking about deliveries being made by drones, and now they have something new to talk about. Well, we are talking about the fact that the Dubai RTA is now using drones for cleaning the facade of Dubai Metro and Tram stations. Here’s all you need to know about this development related to Dubai.
Drones For Cleaning Station Exteriors
Currently in its trial phase, drones are being used for cleaning the facades of the stations. This is not surprising as these drones can be used for multiple purposes! From putting out fires in high-rise buildings to delivering essential items and even monitoring traffic, this is just one of the many things that it is now being used for. With the aim of exploring future solutions, these drones being deployed for cleaning the exterior of the stations would mean employing fewer manpower.
Reduces Manpower By Over 50%
For instance, as revealed in the official news update by the Dubai RTA, it generally takes about 15 people per station. However, with the deployment of a drone-based solution, this can be done with a smaller team of eight people. As a result, the manpower has been drastically reduced by more than 50% and thereby reducing the risks that come along with working at a height or in complex access areas. Giving the perfect solution, this means it reduces the requirement for having workers in a high-risk area.
