After Dubai, Sharjah Plans To Introduce Rental Index For Better Transparency

It wasn’t too long ago that the smart rent index was launched in Dubai for residential buildings and now, Sharjah also has similar plans. Yes, Sharjah has plans to launch this rental index as well, which will bring more transparency to the real estate market. As a result, it will also boost the confidence amongst investors. Here’s more about the rental index that is expected to be launched soon in Sharjah.

Sharjah To Launch Rental Index

As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, Sharjah has plans to launch a rental index. With the launch of this index, there will also be a map of Sharjah that will allow people to see the rents in the respective area. The rental index will be launched by Sharjah Digital in cooperation with the Sharjah Real Estate Department. It is expected that the index will be launched by the exhibition that will be running from January 22 to 25, at Sharjah Expo Centre. An index that boosts transparency in the real estate market truly sounds like a boon for the people.

Dubai Recently Launched Smart Rental Index

Talking more about the index, it is bound to bring more clarity to the rental market and even reduce disputes between landlords and tenants. Not too long ago, Dubai also launched the smart rental index, which includes building classification and rents in the area. Similarly, the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre also launched its inaugural rental index in August 2024. Yes, this was also done to increase transparency and offer indicative rental value for people looking to rent an apartment in the emirate.

So, with the plans of Sharjah launching its own rental index, renting in the emirate is bound to make it easier for the people. Not to mention, it is also going to improve the trustworthiness of the emirate’s market.
