When the sudden escalation of tension disrupted travel plans, several flights were cancelled, delayed, and planes were grounded as airspace in the region closed. And now, Dubai-based Emirates and flydubai issued an advisory for the passengers as Dubai Airports returned to its operations after a brief suspension.
Flydubai Issues Advisory
Just recently, Emirates sent an advisory informing people about the resumption of its flight services, and now flydubai has also issued an advisory for its passengers. As mentioned in a report by Gulf News, it has mentioned how passengers can expect potential delays, even though flights have resumed their scheduled operations. Yes, the advisory came on June 24, Tuesday, wherein the airline says that it is anticipating hold-ups and ongoing airspace congestion to delay. Many flights were also rerouted in order to avoid restricted areas as the safety of passengers and crew is paramount.
Flights To Some Destinations Suspended
Additionally, flydubai also said that Iran, Iraq, and St. Petersburg flights will continue to remain suspended. This pause on the flights to these destinations will remain in place until June 30. The development comes after Dubai Airport had resumed full operations the previous morning. As it happens, airlines have informed their passengers that those who are travelling through the UAE can face potential delays or even cancellations. This comes at a time when airlines are working tirelessly to stabilise the schedule and reroute affected flights.
Emirates To Resume Flights
It was also on the same day that Emirates announced the resumption of its flights. The airline has quickly activated its contingency and disruption plan. This includes no diversion and only a small number of cancellations, with few flights taking a longer path due to the congestion in the airspace. In fact, Emirates has also scheduled services by re-routing flights that avoid conflict zones. This comes at a time when Emirates is gearing up for a busy summer travel season. Throughout the events of the previous two weeks, the airline has kept passengers informed about any changes in its schedule.
Even as the airlines work hard to ensure that flights aren’t affected, it’s important to note that there might still be some that could face a little delay. So, make sure to be updated about your flight schedule!
