Farmers from various parts of India have been protesting against three recently passed Farm Acts in and around the national capital since the past two weeks now. Several organisations and people have come ahead to aid the protesting farmers by providing them with food and another comfort. Khalsa Aid India has set up a massage centre and temporary shelter home for the farmers sleeping in uncomfortable spaces. A ‘gym ka langar’ was also organised for all the sportspersons joining the farmers in solidarity. And, a group of friends from Amritsar organised pizza langar for the farmers.

400 Regular-Sized Pizzas Distributed To Protesting Farmers
Unable to organise regular lentil-chapati langar, the group pf friends collected regular-sized’ pizzas from a Haryana mall and set up a pizza stall at the Singhu border. They distributed around 400 pizzas between the protesting farmers and the nearby residents. The farmers who gave the dough for pizzas can also afford to savour one themselves. One More Pizza Langar To Be Organised On A Bigger Scale
The group of friends wanted to bring the farmers something that would keep their spirits up. One of the reasons why the group for organised a ‘pizza langar‘ was to change the public perception about farmers, that they could not eat pizza and enjoy modern things. Khalsa Aid Installed Portable Washroom At Protesting Site
Menstrual hygiene has been a severe issue for women at the protesting site. To address this issue, Khalsa Aid installed portable washrooms for both men and women, respectively. The team also stocked sanitary napkins for the women in need.
The farmers have been protesting at many border points into Delhi for over two weeks now. They are protesting with the hope that the government would repeal the new legislation, which they believe would benefit the corporates and the wholesale markets.
