Ramadan celebrations are a huge part of the UAE’s annual events. You can witness the joy of this festival in every nook and corner of the Emirates. Expo City Dubai has announced a celebratory event that would mark the festivities. From 3 March to 25 April 2023, Expo City Dubai’s “Hai Ramadan” will be a spectacular commemoration of the holy month. P.s. the entry is free!
What To Expect In ‘Hai Ramadan’?
Expect an enchanting ambience, delectable food, and thrilling activities. It will evoke nostalgia and give hints about Ramadan customs in the UAE and elsewhere. Visitors will be greeted with an expanse of traditions that are witnessed during the holy month of Ramadan.
The celebrations, which is an interpretation of the Arabic word ‘hai’ have the dual meanings of “welcome” and “neighbourhood”. The event is expected to last for more than 50 days, starting on March 3. The weekend before the 3rd marks the UAE’s customary celebration of Haq Al Laila, in anticipation of the onset of Ramadan two weeks later.
Al Wasl Plaza Will Be The Entertainment Hotspot!
Al Wasl Plaza will host a family-friendly theatrical performance. Children of all ages are invited to participate in activities and events to learn about aspects of Emirati culture and the principles of Ramadan such as love, generosity, and compassion. Rashid and Latifa, Dubai’s official mascots, will also be present. Expo City Dubai will host adult sports championships with a designated zone. The tournaments include gaming, fitness, and health and well-being activities for people of all training levels. The launch will occur in order to encourage a healthy lifestyle among visitors. A complete list of activities will be released closer to the event.
Entry to Hai Ramadan, including the Al Wasl concert and sporting events, is free. You might have to pay certain fees for some seminars and games. This event is perfect for family and friend get-togethers.
Local vendors will sell fragrances, presents, and custom-made apparel in a crowded night market, and there will be a business Iftar option available.
