After Much Delay, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link To Be FINALLY Inaugurated On January 12 By PM Modi

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, also known as MTHL, is finally completed and it is all set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. The infrastructure project, which is the longest sea bridge in the country, will be officially inaugurated on January 12, 2024. The project was supposed to be completed earlier but various delays postponed its completion. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this project.

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link To Be Inaugurated By PM Modi

According to what the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, said on Sunday, the MTHL will be inaugurated by PM Modi on January 12. As per the CM, it will bring economic and infrastructural development to various regions and will cut down travel time.

The bridge was slated to be completed sooner. However, as per an article which was recently published by Hindustan Times or HT, the work was delayed owing to the coronavirus pandemic. The construction of the bridge began in 2018 and it was delayed by a total of eight months.

It was earlier stated that the bridge would be unveiled on December 25. However, owing to certain issues, the inauguration was delayed yet again.

It is also important to note that although the bridge will be inaugurated on January 12, the toll prices are yet to be finalised. Earlier, it was mentioned that it would be somewhere around ₹500 but it was deemed too expensive.

If reports are to go by, it is likely that owing to the elections, the toll price will come down to ₹350 or ₹300. However, nothing has been declared officially regarding the matter.
