On Friday, an Akasa Air flight from Mumbai with 166 people on board made an emergency landing at Varanasi airport after receiving a bomb threat message on social media. Flight QP 1498 from Mumbai to Varanasi received an emergency alert from Air Traffic Control.
Akasa Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing
As a result, the emergency response system was activated, and as part of the security protocol, the airline alerted all 16 airports where it operates of the bomb threat and placed them on notice. The plane landed on a different runway, and the passengers exited promptly. For nearly an hour, CISF personnel searched the jet thoroughly. During the examination, nothing was discovered.
The Mumbai-Varanasi flight carried 166 individuals, including 159 passengers, 1 infant, and 6 operational crew members. Passengers and personnel were safely deplaned. All security processes were completed, and the aeroplane was certified safe.

Same Instance Happened Earlier
The flight was delayed. Following that, the aircraft was inspected in the Delhi airport’s isolation bay. All passengers and luggage were safely removed from the plane. However, security clearance was later granted because nothing was discovered on the flight during the check. The flight time was changed to 4:00 p.m. The bomb threat was received at 7:30 a.m., while boarding was taking place.
