Salt Bae is at it again! After shutting down his Riyadh steakhouse in early 2024, Nusret Gökçe, the man behind the viral salt-sprinkling move, is now eyeing new horizons in Saudi Arabia. The Turkish butcher-turned-global restaurateur, Salt Bae has revealed that he’s in talks to bring his famed Nusr-Et brand to the Saudi Arabia futuristic NEOM project, as well as Jeddah and Mecca.

A New Chapter for Salt Bae’s Nusr-Et In Saudi Arabia

The closure of his Riyadh outpost, which lasted less than two years, hasn’t deterred Salt Bae from expanding his presence in Saudi Arabia. He’s more determined than ever.
While the Riyadh location at Cenomi U Walk shut its doors, Gökçe is convinced that a different setting will make all the difference. “We decided we must open in a better location. I want to open in Mecca and Jeddah first. Once those are successful, we’ll move into the new Neom project,” he explained to Arabian Business.

Global Growth Plans

Salt Bae isn’t just focusing on Saudi Arabia, he has a packed 2025 agenda. With planned openings in Mexico City, Monaco, Milan, Rome, Cappadocia, and Istanbul, his empire is on track to hit nearly 40 locations worldwide. The businessman, whose signature gold-covered steaks have taken social media by storm, continues to bet big on luxury dining experiences.

Dubai Reigns Supreme for Nusr-Et

Though his empire spans multiple continents, Gökçe admits that his Dubai restaurant remains the crown jewel. It is the most profitable location and one of the most important restaurants in their portfolio, he revealed.
From Hollywood A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio and David Beckham to high-profile visitors from across the globe, Nusr-Et’s Dubai outpost is a celebrity magnet. The brand’s blend of high-end meat cuts, theatrical presentation, and extravagant ambience has made it a global dining phenomenon.
