Are online dating platforms safe is the first question that pops in the minds of people who have never used these apps. To answer the question most simply, the cons of using these apps are much higher than the pros. People do meet well-behaved and nice-hearted dates online but the numbers are lesser compared to the alarming rise in challenges, scams, threats, and more. Recently, Mumbai’s The Godfather Club grabbed attention for being involved in such sketchy frauds of swindling men into paying exorbitant bills on a date.

Journalist Exposed The Hidden Truth Of Andheri West’s The Godfather Club

Taking to the X platform, Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj (@DeepikaBhardwaj) shared all the necessary updates about the major scam ongoing at this restaurant in Andheri West.

Sharing pictures of four food bills, she stated some harsh truths about this popular place. Women usually connect with men on online dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble, go on dates in their selected locations, and run away making extremely expensive bills. With no solution in hand, men are forced to pay these amounts to get out of these restaurants.

The four images shared by the journalists show bills amounting to ₹22,082, ₹35,949, ₹48,996, and ₹61,743. She also added that the same woman has trapped three men and visited The Godfather Club on dates.

Women involved in these fraudulent schemes usually push the male victims to meet quickly at their specified restaurants or cafes. Here, they insist on meeting at The Godfather Club. After reaching the restaurant, she orders hookah, drinks, and fire shot. Strangely, the guys are not provided with any menu cards. After spending about an hour, the restaurant presents a bill of a huge amount. Meanwhile, the scammers ensure to run from the location.

If a guy raises his voice or disagrees to pay the bill, the bouncer corners him. Mostly, men end up paying the needed amounts just to come out of the terrifying situation.

This widespread racket of defrauding men is not just restricted to Mumbai. This has become a scary issue in other cities such as Delhi and more.

Continuing the thread on the X platform, the journalist added that she has been requesting DCP Bandra to take steps against these fraudsters looting people mercilessly. “Though he assured he will, nothing done yet,” Deepika further added. Also, she asked X users if anyone could connect her with Joint CP Mumbai or any senior officer in the police department, CMO, or HMO Maharashtra regarding these scams.
