For this Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, knocked on the doors of Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport & Highways, in Delhi. We caught up with the minister about forthcoming transportation facilities in India, his weight loss journey, and more. Check out this cute anecdote he shared with us about Mumbai’s Sukh Sagar.
Nitin Gadkari Had Folks At Sukh Sagar Worried
In recent years, Nitin has drastically reduced his weight from 135 kgs to 90 kgs! The minister was on a mission to be healthier and look after his health. When we touched on his inspiring weight loss journey, he told us about how he went from hogging countless dishes to eating a balanced meal.
Our guest shared that until a few years ago, he would order masala dosa, pulao, pizza, kesar milkshake, and more for the table at Sukh Sagar. It is one of his favourite eateries in Mumbai and he is a regular visitor there. After cutting back on his meal, he ordered fewer items at Sukh Sagar.
Noticing this change in Nitin’s usual meal, the folks at the restaurant politely inquired whether he no longer valued their grub. So he replied to them, “There is nothing wrong with the food here, it’s just my health.” This interaction is such a wholesome yet amusing one!

He Will Always Be Fond Of Mumbai’s Food
On the topic of food, he also mentioned that he is utterly fond of Mumbai’s food. Its iconic street foods like vada pav, dabeli and more are his favourite dishes. Nitin still goes out after midnight to relish these delish food items from the street vendors.
However, now, he does so in small quantities. The minister also believes that no other destination can beat the wonderful city of Mumbai, be it in food, people or other aspects. Yep, we do agree, there is no place like the City of Dreams!
