As reported by Native Planet via Dailyhunt, the second corridor will connect key areas through elevated stations. The Agra Metro expansion project, overseen by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC), aims to introduce a 15.4-kilometre-long elevated corridor from Agra Cantonment (Cantt) to Kalindi Vihar. This new line will include 14 elevated stations, with strategic stops including Sadar Bazaar, Collectorate, Agra College, and, of course, Raja Ki Mandi.

Elevated stations are seen as a smart solution to Agra’s urban challenges. Not only do they help avoid extensive land acquisition and interference with busy roadways, but they also make the metro system more accessible and efficient. This move is particularly significant for a city like Agra, which sees heavy tourist footfall due to its world-famous monuments like the Taj Mahal.
