Easy Hack To Store Tomato For A Long Time

Tomatoes are an integral part of Indian cuisine and imagining food without it is almost impossible. However, every time the price of this essential veggie goes up, we have no other choice but to give it up for some time! Well, not anymore, thanks to chef content creator Seema Ajay Patalbansi!

She took to Instagram to share an easy hack that can help you store tomatoes for a long time. In her hack, Seema sun dries fresh tomatoes and turns them into fine powder. According to her, this powder can then be used to make soups, sabzi, and chutney, or be used as seasoning in chips and popcorn. Just remember to store the tomato powder in air-tight containers.

Seema also recommends choosing big tomatoes to make the powder instead of smaller ones. This is mainly because the smaller tomatoes tend to have higher water content and produce a lesser quantity of powder upon grinding. Another thing to keep in mind is to make sure you keep the tomato powder open in the sun every few months to ensure that it lasts for a longer time.
