She also presented her son Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding invite at the famous temple during pooja. Following that, she also explored Varanasi and did the most touristy things there. One of them was shopping for Banarasi sarees! It has been reported that Nita Ambani bought around 50 Banarasi sarees during her visit to Varanasi. Ahead of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, Nita Ambani was seen exploring Varanasi. During her visit to the city, she was seen shopping at local stores for sarees. According to a report in The Economic Times, Nita Ambani placed a bulk order of 50-60 sarees for her son’s wedding.
She, reportedly, bought many Lakkha Buti and Hazara Buti Banarasi sarees among others while shopping. These sarees are quite popular as it has intricate work and takes about 60 days and several people to make one piece. As per The Economic Times, the sarees bought by Nita Ambai are made of real zari and have silver and gold threads in them. These sarees range from ₹1.5 to 2 lakhs to ₹5 to 6 lakhs each!
Nita Ambani is known for her love for sarees and genuine appreciation for Indian craftsmanship. She has, in the past, taken up many projects to promote Indian artisans and crafts.
Everything That Went Down During Her Varanasi Trip
The primary reason for Nita Ambani’s Varanasi trip was to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. But she made sure to make the most of her trip. Before heading out to shop, she also enjoyed the local flavours of Varanasi’s street food while she was here. After attending the Ganga Aarti, she headed to a local street food shop and relished some chaat there. She, reportedly, tried out the famous Tamatar Chaat of Varanasi, along with Aloo Chaat and Samosas.
