Mumbai Traffic Police have shared an advisory ahead of the 68th death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Mumbai will observe Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 68th death anniversary on December 6, 2024. This day will be commemorated at Chaitya Bhoomi in Dadar’s Shivaji Park. Also known as Mahaparinirvan Din, this event is likely to cause traffic congestion or snarls nearby. Due to the expected traffic issues in the city, Mumbai Traffic Police have already shared a necessary advisory. Scroll down to know more about the restrictions and diversions.

Mumbai Traffic Police Issued An Advisory Ahead Of Mahaparinirvan Din

A significant crowd of followers are expected to visit Chaitya Bhoomi between December 4 and 7. A temporary arrangement has been organised to avoid any traffic disruption and continue smooth flow in and around Shivaji Park. These rules and restrictions will be followed from 6 PM on December 5 to December 7.

Here’s about road closures:

  • Swatantryaveer Savarkar Road will remain shut for vehicular movement from Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to Hinduja Hospital. Residents can take a left turn at Yes Bank Junction and continue via Pandurang Naik Road towards Rajabade Chowk.
  • S.K. Bole Road (North Bound) will be a one-way starting from Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to Portuguese Church Junction.
  • Dnyaneshwar Mandir Road, Rande Road, Jambhekar Maharaj Road, Keluskar Road South, Keluskar Road North, M.B. Raut Road, and T.H. Katariya Road will be shut down for vehicular traffic.
  • Heavy vehicles will be restricted on Gokhale Road (Gadkari Junction to Dhanmil Naka), L.J. Road (Mahim Junction to Gadkari Junction), Senapati Bapat Road (Mahim Rly. Station to Vadacha Naka), S.V.S. Road (Mahim Junction to Hardikar Junction), and Tilak Bridge (Dadar T. T. Circle to Veer Kotwal Udyan).

  • Swatantryaveer Savarkar Road
  • Dnyaneshwar Mandir Road
  • Jambhekar Maharaj Road
  • Ranade Road
  • Keluskar Road South and North
  • M.B. Raut Road
  • Pandurang Naik Road
  • N.C. Kelkar Road
  • Dr. Vasantrao J Raath Road, starting from SVS Road up to Amego Hotel
  • S.H. Palarkar Road from S.S. Road to Millemiyam Bldg
