Ahead of the Maha Kumbh Mela in January, the Central Hospital established in Mahakumbh Nagar, Prayagraj welcomed a baby girl on Monday. This comes a day after the first baby was delivered in the same hospital on Sunday. While the baby girl was named Ganga, the baby boy was named Kumbh.
Prayagraj Welcomes Newborns Ganga & Kumbh
Amid preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the Central Hospital set up in the new district of Mahakumbh Nagar in Prayagraj welcomed two newborns. The baby girl, with the consent of the family, was named ‘Ganga’ after the holy river. Meanwhile, the baby boy was named ‘Kumbh’, in recognition of the massive spiritual mela.
Shivkumari, a resident of Banda district gave birth to a baby girl on Monday, marking the second consecutive day of deliveries in the hospital. Furthermore, Sonam of Kaushambi gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday. These deliveries were carried out by a team of doctors led by Dr Gaurav Dubey.
According to the Indian Express, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak also extended his congratulations to the two families. The 100-bed Central Hospital is located in the Parade area of Maha Kumbh Mela. It is well-equipped with an OPD, general ward, delivery centre, diagnostic centres, ICU and operation theatre. In fact, people have already started getting treatment at this hospital. As per reports, separate wards have been set up for males, females and children there.
More About The Maha Kumbh 2025
The Maha Kumbh 2025 will begin on January 13 and will go on till February 26, 2025. The massive spiritual gathering will take place in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj and more than 400 million pilgrims are expected to attend this fair which is held once in 12 years. The mela starts with Makar Sankranti and ends on the day of Mahashivratri. Maha Kumbh 2025 will begin with the Paush Purnima bath, which is on 13 January 2025. It will conclude with the last bath on the day of Mahashivratri on 26 February 2025.
This festival is held at four locations by rotation. These locations are Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nasik. It is believed that if a devotee takes a bath during Maha Kumbh, then all their sins are washed away and they attain moksha.
