When any rally or procession happens in a city, traffic control becomes like a nightmare. However, Pune traffic police have got it covered this time. In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on November 12, Pune traffic police have issued traffic restrictions and detours in strategic locations throughout the city.
Traffic Arrangements Deployed By Pune’s Traffic Police
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on November 12, Pune Traffic Police, under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, has released thorough traffic advice to control expected congestion. In light of the Prime Minister’s visit to Maharashtra, it is advised to the commuters to modify their travel plans. The emphasis is on the importance of coordinated traffic management for the success of ongoing political campaigns, as rallies are expected to draw large crowds.

During this event that draws big crowds, the procedures are intended to guarantee both public safety and the efficient flow of vehicles. There will be major traffic interruptions due to the rally at SP College Ground, particularly in the central parts of the city. Beginning late Tuesday afternoon, some highways will be closed and others will be detoured in order to control crowds and maintain security. These limitations will be in effect until 8:30 PM when the rally comes to an end.

Specific Restrictions On Specific Routes In Pune
Vehicles are not allowed between Na. Si. Phadke Chowk and Nath Pai Chowk in the Ambil Odha Area. It is recommended that drivers proceed from Na. Si. Phadke Chowk to Nilayam Talkies Bridge before turning onto Sinhagad Road.
Due to the rally, Bapurao Ghole Road to Tilak College Chowk will be restricted, which will impact traffic flow in the evening. Other routes are Joggers Park Road, Lal Bahadur Sinhagad Road and Lal Bahadur Shastri Road. Kelkar Road will only run in one direction from Tilak Chowk to Bhide Bridge Junction. To avoid gridlock, commuters should turn left at Z Bridge and right at Bhide Bridge Junction.

Both Bhide Bridge Chowk and Garud Ganpati Chowk will be closed. By turning left at Garud Ganpati Chowk and U-turning at Tilak Chowk, travellers can circumvent the restriction. Bhide Bridge will be the only way from the Deccan to Kelkar Road. In order to avoid traffic and delays, drivers should turn left after Bhide Bridge and continue on Nadipatra Road.
Large vehicles would not be permitted on some highways in order to reduce traffic and ensure smooth passage. Solapur Road, Ahmednagar Road, Alandi Road, Old Pune-Mumbai Highway, Aundh Road, and other roads would be subject to these limitations.
On Tuesday, November 12, parking will be forbidden on both sides of four key highways in Pune from 6 AM. until midnight. These roads are Shastri Road, Ferguson College Road, JM Road, and Airport Road.
To guarantee that cars and pedestrians can travel freely during the rally, there will be important detours and traffic restrictions in place.
